Zeke’s First Year

Zeke is a great cat! He loves to be around us all the time, and can be very demanding. After every meal, we go through a ritual where he goes to the kitchen and waits for us to come to play with him with our assortment of cat toys. He loves flying around on the kitchen rug chasing his prey, and snorting.

He has also decided that he likes to make sure we know he’s in the bed with us every morning around 4:00 am. He crawls over us chirping, waiting to be petted. As soon he starts getting petted, he does a big flop down on top of us and starts his purring and snorting. If we’re lucky, he lets us get some more sleep before he decides to start demanding his breakfast!

Zeke likes his sister and all his brothers, especially Romie. Romie is very much more interested in the other cats than us, and is a very good companion for them.

 

November, 2002

When we brought Zeke home, we took him to the vet for his first checkup! All the vets and techs thought he was a beautiful cat. We’ve continued to take him in frequently to check and marvel at his growth and weight gains, and to have him visit with the techs who just adore him and his big, mushy paws!

December 2002

Zeke immediately starts to hang out with his little brother, Romulus (Romie), a Bengal kitten one month younger than Zeke.  They love climbing in the tree, and trying to stake out the choice spots.

 

Zeke decides he would like to be a Christmas ornament!

Zeke enjoys relaxing with Romie and Luigi, one of his older brothers.

He also likes to spend quality time with his sister Azul (left), and his other older brother, Hector (right).

Zeke turns one! He is dwarfing his “big brother”, Luigi. He weighs in at a fit, trim 17lbs., 14 oz.
