Declawing: Many websites specialize in educating about the
inhumane practice of "cat declawing" and the one I like in
particular,
Good Cats Wear
Black, written by a cat behavioral consulting specialist, explains how
declawed cats ruin carpeting and furniture by severe, deep urinating and biting
at 25 times the rate that normal cats cause damage by scratching.

By the time they hit 1 to 8 years age, many declawed cats are
out-of-control. Most declawed cat owners had not been informed of what the
operation entailed or any risks associated with declawing. Nearly every
declawed cat owner with such a problem claims they would never have their cat
declawed again. Even though it is outlawed as extremely inhumane in most
European countries and many other countries in the world, it is a shame so
many owners in North America still have no knowledge of how dangerous this
amputation is.
Alternatives to this are simple: I have placed links to builders of cat
furniture as well as suppliers of claw clippers on the "Links and Pet
Products" page on this website.
